Two points dropped or one gained? Arsenal (h) review
It’s common for football fans to say “I’ll take a draw” before a game when up against a tough oppositon or when you can sense your team is off form or missing key personnel. Most Leeds fans would of bitten your hand off for a 0-0 draw at 4pm on Sunday afternoon.
However, you never know how a match is going to pan out, so after dominating the game from start to finish, against ten men for 40 minutes and hitting the woodwork three times in the latter stages, if you we’re like me you were feeling pretty gutted with a result you would of welcomed a couple of hours earlier.

Having let the dust settle on the game, I can see and take the positives. A fine relentless perfomance that has become Leeds DNA, a clean sheet on the back of back-to-back 4-1 defeats and a point on the board for the first time in a month.
There were some welcome returns too; Kalvin Phillips slotted back in seamlessly into his holding midfield role and Rodrigo added danger in his 20 minute outing returing from his postive COVID test.
It was incredibly frustating we could’nt break down the ten men of Arsenal for nearly a full half of the match and also that we were thwarted by the finest margins of the woodwork thrice but this was a dominant performance against an established top six side and the FA Cup holders, even long before Nicholas Pepe’s senseless headbutt on Alioski gave Leeds a man advantage.
Two tough away games are coming up now agaisnt Everton and Chelsea but this performance, clean sheet and point will put us in good stead for those encounters.
Man of the Match: Gianni Alioski
Our lovable madman has had a good fortnight helping his country North Macedonia to qualify for their first ever tournament and is locked in talks with Leeds over a new contract. He put in a very assured performance and was topped off with him winding up Pepe and Keiran Tierney to boiling point.
